During 25 years of neglect, the drains that kept the land from accumulating salts fell into serious disrepair. Water that once flushed the salts through the soil sat stagnant and left the land virtually unable to sustain a crop.
IFHope is cleaning and rehabilitating 114 km of blocked drainage ditches within the Nangarhar and Kama Irrigation systems and establishing a sustainable irrigation plan for rehabilitated areas. Comprehensive construction designs including detailed computer design, technical specifications, engineering budgets and bills of quantity are also completed for the each activity. A detailed post survey assessment is completed for each drain to ensure the work matches the drain designs.
